Fees & Payments

Understand CSSBuy cost components, service-fee calculations, item payments, shipping payments and the records to keep when budgeting.

AT A GLANCE

Separate the product price, domestic delivery, service or payment charges and international shipping. Check which amounts are paid with the item and which are quoted after parcel preparation.

Purchase & Delivery Cost Breakdown

CSSBuy’s Cost and Fees article separates the product price, delivery from the seller to its Chinese warehouse, international freight and service charge. Optional services and payment-related charges also need checking in the transaction where they apply. Do not count an unknown charge as zero.

Service-Fee Calculation

The official Cost and Fees article publishes this formula: service charge = (product price + delivery within China) × 6%. It is a published purchasing-service formula; check the charge actually shown for your order before paying. Do not apply it automatically to the separate self-purchase forwarding service.

For an illustrative order with a ¥100 item and ¥10 domestic delivery, that formula gives ¥6.60 in service charges and ¥116.60 before international freight and any other applicable charges. These are invented example amounts, not a quote for a displayed product.

Item Payment & Shipping Payment

The Buy For Me guide places item and Chinese-delivery payment before purchasing, and international-shipping payment after parcel submission. Keep those payments on separate lines. A completed product payment does not mean delivery to your country has been paid.

Select a payment method from the options currently available in your account. Record its payable amount and currency rather than relying on an old list of supported providers or a screenshot of a previous checkout.

Payment Method Selection

Check the methods available in your own checkout before adding money. CSSBuy’s public material includes payment-provider lists and older payment articles; a list on a help page does not establish that every method is available for your country and account today. Use the live amount, currency and payment instructions shown for the transaction.

Record both sides of a top-up: the amount paid in your currency and the balance credited in the account. If they differ from an earlier estimate, identify the exchange rate and any payment charge before comparing the result. A card issuer’s conversion and an account display can represent separate calculations.

For an uncredited or duplicate-looking payment, keep the payment reference and ask support to reconcile it with the account record before paying again. The original reference, date, amount and currency are more useful than a screenshot of a balance alone.

Freight Deposits and Adjustments

The official purchasing workflow describes an international-freight deposit based on estimated weight, destination and route. It then describes a final calculation using the parcel size and weight verified for transport. Keep the estimated charge and the final charge as separate entries in your budget.

After shipment, review the parcel’s settlement and any account adjustment. Check what changed: the packed dimensions, chargeable weight, selected service or an extra request. A difference returned to the CSSBuy balance is an account credit; withdrawing an unused balance is a separate process.

If a shipping quote is essential to your buying decision, compare it before adding more products. An extra jacket can change the package size as well as its weight. Use a revised parcel estimate rather than multiplying the first quote by the new item count.

Optional Service Budget

Add requested services to the budget when you select them. An extra photo, a measurement, protective packing, storage extension and parcel protection solve different problems. Check the charge and the scope of each request rather than grouping them into an unexplained miscellaneous amount.

RequestBudget record
Photos or measurementsThe requested detail, agreed charge and item ID.
PackingThe protection or removal instruction and revised parcel quote.
StorageThe applicable item or parcel deadline and extension period.
Parcel protectionThe quoted premium, insured amount and selected terms.

CNY Prices, Conversion & Payment Records

Our catalogue’s USD estimates use the data provider’s assumption of 7.2 CNY per USD. CSSBuy’s displayed conversion and the amount charged by a payment provider can differ. Use the original CNY item amount to compare listings, then record what you actually pay in your own currency.

Keep the item order, parcel quotation and payment confirmations together. Replace budget estimates with actual payments as they become available. Compare a revised basket using a new parcel quotation rather than assuming shipping changes in direct proportion to item count.

Worked Budget & Freight Adjustment

This editorial example uses the same published purchasing-service formula as the earlier example: an item costs ¥200 and China delivery costs ¥12, giving a service charge of (¥200 + ¥12) × 6% = ¥12.72. Add hypothetical selected extras of ¥8 and an estimated international freight charge of ¥180. The subtotal is ¥412.72, before payment-provider charges and any destination charges still to be confirmed.

If final freight is ¥174 with every other input unchanged, replace the ¥180 estimate with ¥174. The revised subtotal is ¥406.72, a ¥6 reduction. Check the parcel settlement for the actual adjustment. If an item or packing request changes, obtain a revised quotation rather than assuming the same freight difference applies.

These invented amounts illustrate the calculation, not the cost of a displayed product. Use the service charge actually shown for your order, especially if its purchase model or account terms differ. Keep seller refunds, freight adjustments and withdrawals as separate dated entries so each change can be reconciled.
